Abstract

In case of restoring a complete edentulous patient with a fixed prosthesis using an implant, it is necessary to take into account the difficulty of surgical operation, insufficient upper support, and economic burden. However, when implanting two implants in the anterior mandible and restoring them with an implant tissue-supported overdenture using a locator retainer, more economical and stable denture retention and stability can be achieved, thereby increasing patient satisfaction. According to McGill Consensus in 2002 and York Consensus in 2009, it was reported that implant overdenture with two implants should be the first treatment option as a superior treatment to traditional dentures in mandibular complete edentulous patients.
